Subject:Gig possibility?

Hey there!
I'm going to be in Charlottetown for a little vacation with my family this summer and I'm hoping to book a gig whilst there. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I should go? Any places to avoid? Any venue owners in here that are interested in a little alt-country goodness?

Subject:Travel Question

I lived in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia a long time ago... I've been in Calgary since age 12 but miss the coast like crazy. I'm finally going to be able to take my Husband down there for a week or two (he's never been further East than Ottawa in Canada) but my memory isn't too sharp now, considering I've lived in Calgary for 18 years.

Is there much of a difference in the last weeks of June to the beginning of July? We might straddle Canada Day and go from June 25 - July 5 or so. Is that a good time to go, weather-wise? How are your Canada Days? Calgary's are severely lacking in any excitement.

We're looking to go to Nova Scotia and PEI (flying out and renting a car); and any suggestions on where to go is always welcome. Like I said, I have ideas, but I've been in Calgary too long... the last time I visited the East Coast was in High School. I'm 30 now.... yikes... We love the pubs and we listen to loud, hard, mostly industrial music.... but we appreciate lots of relaxation too! We camp, ski, hike and generally like lounging around as well.

Subject:Possible Move to P.E.I.

My husband and I are considering a move there when I finish college and I'm looking for opinions/advice from people that actually live there. Is the job market ok (doesn't need to be great) and what is housing like there also.

Subject:Visiting Charlottetown this summer

Hi! I'm visiting Charlottetown this summer. I'm staying with some fabulous person via the Couchsurfing Project- it's a gambe but I've read great reviews about her.

I'm of course an Anne fan, yadda yadda, but I'm also interested in the natural beauty and environment of the Island. I'm interested in Canadian culture in general, after all, I'm American! We think everything you do is cooler.

Here's the rub- I'm super, mega broke. I'm driving up there with a few friends who will be able to share expenses for some things, but for others I'm on my own. I want to have the opportunity to eat some good seafood, see some of the Anne schlock, etc...

The host said she might be able to get me a comp for the musical, which ROCKS.

I'm looking for different ideas on how to save money. Are you a seafood catcher person? Want to take me clamming in exchange for, uh, something New Yorky?

I'm looking for various barters for things I can either bring to you or do. I can usher for comps to a show, for instance. I'm willing to bring you things you can't get in PEI, as long as they are LEGAL!!!!! perishables like NY bagels or pizza are probably out, since we're taking a week to get there.

Feel free to email me or AIM me (Astoriaunt) and talk NY or PEI. I'd love money saving tips! Where can we wash dishes for a fantastic meal? etc....

I'll be there from the 9th to the 14th of august, if that makes a difference...

Hello there.*
In two months my partner and I plan on moving into a home in Port Hill.
From what I hear, it's a fairly small community.. and as I am used to
living in Vancouver and not knowing anyone, I thought it would be nice
to introduce myself.
I'm twenty years old, have barely traveled and have never lived
outside of Vancouver during my life-time. In my spare time I like
to read and draw/paint. I enjoy going out to dance and I'm currently
learning to spin fire. Currently, my source of income stems from
working as an extra in films and television.
Anyone here from Tyne Valley or Port Hill?
I'll be looking for a job and some folks to socialize with.. Any thoughts?

Let me know,

Subject:Hey Folks...New to town

Hey Kratz...fancy meeting you here.

Hi Folks.

I'm new to Charlottetown and hoping to meet some new friends here.
I enjoy sciences, computers, photography, nature walks, 8-Ball, Books of all types except Harlequins (ok some of those are good too...old romantic that I am).

I've been known to occasionally have an opinion on current events ;)

I like all kinds of music, though I'm not a fan of Gangster rap. I'm 50 but growing up is something I haven't placed a high priority on so I feel comfy with people of any age really.

Anyway...enough about me. If anyone wishes to say Hi, they can do it on here or on my MSN at edwardgaudet@hotmail.com

A happy New year to all!

Hey UPEI-ers...

There's a referendum currently up and running on the proposed "UPASS" - which is $30.00 a semester, ($7.50 a month) which is addded to our student fees ($60.00 a year). This 30 bucks allows us UPEI kiddos unlimited access to the new transit system in Charlottetown.

I think this is a really great idea guys... all you have to do is log in to your campus account and vote :)

Help the environment, save yourself some gas money, and support the new transit system.

i'm at UPEI today until 2 p.m. in the student centre, with a booth at the volunteer fair, if any of you islanders want to come see me :)

i'm at the Canadian Cancer Society booth. come and fill out a ballot to win a gift basket, or sign up to volunteer...it's a great cause, volunteering looks good on a resume, etc.

hope to see you there :D

Hey guys :)

My name is Leah...and I'm a graphic designer from Newfoundland. I'm looking to relocate in the next month or two and I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up as to what I can expect in the cities...(transit system, rent, good/bad areas...)

anything you can suggest would be great :)

this might sound like a stupid question, but i really need a haircut and was wondering if someone could recommend a good hairstylist in Charlottetown.

By "good", I mean knows what they're doing but doesn't charge $238910 for a cut. I don't want to end up with a lopsided mullet but I don't want to be paying an arm and a leg for a haircut, yanno?

if you could give some suggestions, it would be much appreciated <3

Subject:Seeking Snail Mail Pen Pal from PEI

I am seeking a snail mail penpal from Prince Edward Island. I am 29 years old, female, married, from New York (USA). My hobbies include playing guitar/piano, art, and creative writing to name a few. I've been a longtime fan of Anne of Green Gables and L.M. Montgomery's writings in general. I've been enamored with PEI since seeing the Anne movie and would like to learn more about this place! I would prefer a female penpal, between 25-35 years of age. This is a serious request for penpals, I am very dedicated to writing letters on a regular basis and I hope you are too! If you are interested, please e-mail me your snail mail address and tell me a little bit about yourself! My e-mail address is upstate_new_yorker@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!
